16 Weeks!!

This last week has been great. I've been able to get together with a lot of my girlfriends to catch up. Fortunately/unfortunately it's been over dinner! Not to shabby for a pregnant lady to be dining with her gal pals but I think it's catching up to me. Eeeeek.

Here's my stats for the week.... (Please mind my hair, there's usually a small window of opportunity where Paul and I are both off so I had to jump at the chance for him to snap this one of me)

How far along are you: 16 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: I've gained another 2 pounds this month. Up 12lbs altogether. It must be all the food nights I've been having!
Maternity clothes: I seriously need to make a trip to the states. You can't order any maternity clothes from the states online! Grrrrr
Stretch marks: big FAT no.
Sleep: in my pregnancy books I've read that we're prone to having vivid dreams due to our hormone levels as they will relate to the condition of our pregnancy, the trimester we're in and what's going on with our bodies at the time. Today was no different! All my dreams have been wacky and then today I had my first pregnancy dream. My baby was leaving imprints of their feet, hands and face through my stomach. Them before I knew it, my baby was out but the size it would be right now AND still attached to the umblicial cord. Right before my eyes it was growing into a 9 month full term baby. I knew it wouldn't survive out of the womb so I asked Paul and Kelsey to call 911. For whatever reason they wouldn't do it so I took matters into my own hands. But for the life of me I couldn't press the buttons right. I pressed 711 and 912 but not the right combo of 911. Thank goodness I woke up before I had to really require 911. Ugh. How crazy!!
I almost get exhausted dreaming!!
Best moments of the week: I felt my little nugget this week:) It was just 2 little nudges on my first day shift. I patiently waited to feel them again that day with no luck. Then again just once yesterday. My doctor said it's going to happen every 3-4 days and before I know it in the next couple weeks it will be a few times a day!  I also brought Paul to my doctor's appointment today. We both got to heart out baby's heart beat at a strong 159 beats per minute. It's the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard. We're so smitten!
Food cravings: this week it could have been anything anyone mentioned. I've had many conversations at work with my coworkers about burgers and pulled pork parfaits. Ugh I need me some pulled pork parfait!
Have you started showing yet: heck yes! I'm finally bumpin!!
Symptoms: I've been feeling pretty great so I'd like to stick with that for now. Just great :)
Moods: mainly so G.D happy! I love my life!!

15 Weeks!

I know I'm just new to this pregnancy thing, but I absolutely love it! I am loving every part about being pregnant so far. (please check back in with me in 20 more weeks to see how I'm feeling then. I can't promise miracles!) Every morning when I wake up, wait....I should say every 2-3 hours when I wake up to go to the bathroom throughout the night AND when I wake up in the morning, I hold my little bump and tell my babe I love them. It's my own way of hugging the little nugget in there:) I think about my babe all throughout the day, hoping he or she is comfy in there, what kind of movements they are doing while I can't even tell from out here, or how they are putting up with me moving around so much during my 5 (yes 5!) workouts that I squeezed in this week!!

I sent out our invites to our Gender Reveal party that we're having at the end of March. I'm absolutely so excited! We booked our ultrasound for March 24th and will be waiting to find out the results with our friends and family at the party 6 days later. Ahhhhhh 6 more weeks until we find out! I'm so uncertain what this little one is going to be at this point. Regardless it's going to be such a wonderful surprise.

I've been reading a ton of blogs and have read LOTS of lists of things NOT to say to a pregnant lady. Things on those lists include- WOW, you sure you're only carrying ONE baby? OR You're really huge now! For other fellow pregnant ladies or ladies who have been pregnant before, what are some really odd/stupid/weird/irritating comments that you pregnant ladies received, or heard others receive? I'd love to hear some! .

Here are my stats for the week.....

How far along: 15 weeks! (second trimester)
Total weight gain/loss: I'm wondering that myself. I'll have to say I've gained some weight since my last weigh in, but I'll just wait for the official amount once I see my doctor next Thursday. So for now we'll go with 10 pounds.
Maternity Clothes: in all my photos I've taken so far I have been in my tights. Today I actually got to wear my maternity jeans. Woo Hoo! No muffin top! These things are great :)
Stretch Marks: NO
Sleep: I can fall asleep pretty quickly. As soon as my head hits that pillow, I'm out like a light. However, it doesn't last. I'm experiencing pregnancy bladder syndrome, which used to be known to me as tiny bladder syndrome. It's rough getting up so often to go to the bathroom, however with my wonderful sleeping skills I've been able to fall asleep almost before I get back into my bed.
Best Moments of the week: sending out our Gender Reveal invites!! Eeeeeek! So exciting :)
Food Cravings: For some reason Cinnabon has been taunting me all week. First when we were grocery shopping and I came across a loaf of bread by Cinnabon! Of course I had to try it. (For those interested, it was great!) Then a couple days later a co-worker brought in cinnamon buns. I held out from indulging, but then another co-worker had a cinnamon bun he bought from Tim Hortons. Are you serious? What's with all this cinnamon bun business? THEN I see a post on instagram of someone enjoying a Cinnabon. Oh frig, you've got to be kidding me. By this point, I couldn't ignore my fate. I NEEDED to have a Cinnabon. I have to say that it's been years since I've had one. So as soon as Paul and I got up today (after we watched the Canadian Women win a gold medal in Olympic Hockey, YAHOO!!) we headed straight to the mall to get one. While I was driving there, my loving husband had to look up the nutritional content of ONE regular sized Cinnabon on his cell phone. After sharing his knowledge I almost opened the door and kicked him out. I'm not going to lie. I though about leaving him at the side of the Linc. I didn't of course. He was the one that said he would pay for the Cinnabons :)
Have you started showing yet: I'm close to baby bumpin! I do a little self test where I see if I can still suck in. Well I can, so I don't think I have an official bump yet.
Symptoms: not really anything out of the ordinary. I'm still getting some good bloating periods in the evening. Ya, great mental picture right? Tell me about it.
Moods: happy or annoyed. Guess that's pretty normal for me. Haha

14 Weeks!

This week was our Valentine's day week! Paul works on the actual Valentine's day so we planned on celebrating throughout the week. When you're a shift worker, you make it work whenever you're off!

We went on a double date with another fellow pregnant friend and her husband to see the play Chicago on Tuesday night and then out for dinner to the Sultant's Tent in Toronto. Nothing says I love you like eating and entertainment :)

This week my sister Kelsey also has been the greatest eating partner. Earlier on in the week we went grocery shopping together. We went shopping while we were hungry, which is something that you should never do- especially while one of you is pregnant! Needless to say, we walked out of there with some great snacks. After dinner that night I made some Reese's Peanut Butter muffins that I had bought on our trip. She didn't put up a fuss when I mentioned I was about to make it! Hahaha!!

Then a couple days later while I was at work she texted me saying she has a craving for nachos. Great! Now she's planted that idea in my head, it's the end of the day and I'm starving! Come over to my house and let's make it! And so we did :)

Here are my stats for the week...

How far along: 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I'm only weighing myself once a month while at my Doctor's appointments so as of the last appointment I'm up 10 pounds.
Maternity clothes: wearing tights EVERY damn DAY.
Stretch marks: NO! Stay away
Sleep: I'm a great sleeper! I can nap at the drop of a dime. Not as tired as I once was.
Best moments this week: being able to work out often! This may not seem like a huge deal to most, but I'm slowly getting back to working out and making me feel a ton better over all.
Movement: nadda.
Food Cravings: nachos with Kelsey and juice!!
Have you started to show yet: some  days yes and some days no. It's feeling like a trick belly.
Symptoms: not much! This is only the beginning...

13 Weeks!!

I'm officially in the second trimester! Hip Hip Hooray!! This cute little babe in my tummy is starting to look more and more like a real person as every single day passes. Gone are the tadpole looking days!

This week I ventured out to the maternity stores to try on some REAL maternity pants. Now  you may be thinking it's too early for me to be wearing maternity pants. You're probably right! However during my 12 hour shifts at work, I'm sitting for 10 of those hours (the other 2 are my lunches) and I've found that while sitting for that long, I need some comfy pants. I never wanted to go into those maternity stores before I was "out" with my news. I kept thinking that someone I knew was going to catch me going in there, and I would have to come up with a reason why I was there that wouldn't be related to the fact that I'M PREGNANT! So I avoided it altogether :)

Once I finally found my way in the store, I almost felt like strutting. I was beaming! "I"m pregnant world, and I need me some comfy pants!" If you could have been in my brain, that's what was on repeat. Until I looked at the price tags. Whaaaaaaaaat?! I have to pay $69.99 and up for some stylish jeans to wear while I'm growing a person inside me? You've got to be kidding me. I'm only going to be wearing these for the next few months!  I barely find myself spending that much on jeans when I'm not growing people! I walked out of that store after trying to reason with spending $69.99+ on jeans.

I did manage to score a better deal at Motherhood Maternity buying 2 pairs of jeans because I came in during a buy one get 50% off sale. Well, better than nothing. Plus, their jeans weren't as much as the other store. Score! I had a good giggle once I got into the dressing room and saw the foam baby belly I could strap on, to give myself an idea of how I may look in a few months with my growing baby belly. Here's some pictures that gave me a good laugh.

Here are my stats for the week.....

How far along: 13 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 10 pounds! You heard it. I'm up 10. Woooo weeeee. I don't mind gaining the weight for my little nugget in there, but it's definitely not my favourite part of my doctors visits. However my doctor doesn't seem to mind :)
Maternity clothes: see above post for my first maternity jean purchase experience.
Stretch marks: No. Let's keep it that way.
Best moments this week: Being able to BE pregnant at work. Not having to worry about hiding it. I had a lot of people tell me that this baby is so lucky to have Paul and I as parents. I can't think of a better compliment than that! :) I'm still loving that one!
Miss anything: sleeping on my stomach. Some ladies may still be able to until they really have a belly popping out, but my tummy has been extra sensitive during my sleep that I can barely have my arm resting on it. Never mind completely laying on it!
Movement: nothing this week. However I've danced around and worked out 4 times this week, so I'm hoping that my baby is getting used to my high energy and dancing around in there too!
Food Cravings: nothing this week. At work we had a food night for the Superbowl, so baby got some great "womb service" that night.
Have you started to show yet: still some wonderful bloating. To be continued....
